Default Voltage Gauge “For Trojan”

The dash mounted meter I got says it’s specifically for Trojan batteries. Well now I have US batteries. what do I need to look out for? I don’t see one specificAlly for US batteries?

I don’t really wanna buy a new meter. Especially if it’s just like 1 bar off.

Get a digital battery meter. The bars are deceptive. They lead good people to do bad things to batteries they paid dearly for.

Digital meter, you mean one that shows voltages? Any recommended brand? I’ve seen and heard of some that are inaccurate.

Agh yes ok. Since it’s 2 wire do I need to wire it through a switch?

Not unless you need to shut it off for some reason.

The dash mounted DVM I got from Scottie has been on contentiously since Jun-2011, except when I'm upgraded (or fixing) something and once or twice a year when I clean the cables. My charger goes into a float charge mode after the normal charge cycle ends and if I see something other than 46.4V (7x6V 42V pack Exide batteries) on the meter, I investigate to find out why.

The meter only draws a few milliamps, which less than the controller draws keeping the filter capacitors charged.
