Fuse for direct Volt Meter Install
I was wondering what the BGW brain trust thought about this.
I directly wired a volt meter to my 2006 CC Precedent battery box. Works GREAT! So much more accurate than the OEM one that was previously there. Do you guys recommending putting a fuse inline? There is nothing else on this circuit. If so, what size fuse do you recommend? |

Re: Fuse for direct Volt Meter Install
I don't think a fuse is necessary but if you wanted to use one then something like 5A or smaller would do. The only time the fuse would be necessary is if you have a wire short out (or the voltmeter itself shorts out) and that will blow any small fuse. The voltmeter itself only pulls milliamps.

Re: Fuse for direct Volt Meter Install
Wire it to the cold side of the key switch. No fuse needed there.
