Max speed 10mph
New to me 2016 club car precedent.* 4 person, lifted, 23 inch off road tires, bone stock everything else.* Slow as balls on flat road with me driving it.* Can't get out of its own way with 4 people.* Put a new motor in it and it maxes out at 10 mph with me alone . Stock motor was 3.1hp, new motor is 11.4hp.* I don't need to go 30 but 20 would be nice. Avgs 7-8 mph and hits 10.1 if I am lucky on gps*
Serial # JE1619 - XXXXXX Been reading a lot of post and it sounds like I need the following* 1) wires 2) solenoid 3) controller 4) batteries 5) cash Before I go throwing good $ after bad,* is there some things I should check first? . Any suggestions is appreciated.* I am not a mechanic but I am handicapble with tools.* Thanks in advance.* Battery voltage Pack - 50.3 B1 - 8.47 B2 - 8.49 B3 - 8.31 B4 - 8.15 B5 - 8.43 B6 - 8.38 |

Re: Max speed 10mph
If you upgrade everything on your list, it should get you the speed you want. Usually upgrading motor goes along with controller, solenoid and battery cables or you won't be able to realize the full potential. It definitely starts to add up. Depending on the condition of your batteries, I would also consider lithium to reduce weight and increase performance and runtime.

Re: Max speed 10mph
I just filled the batteries yesterday using the handy watering system on these batteries after a full charge. The history of this cart is unknown. Physically it's in mint shape. Mechanically it's slow. I took a 30 second ride to check speed today after the new motor was put in. I tested the batteries after the ride. I can recharge, wait 12 hours and test again. For some reason I highly doubt this is going to give me 4 more mph.

Re: Max speed 10mph
Where did the cart come from? I may be mistaken but I believe the controller can be programmed to make it mega slow. I’d maybe see a dealer or find someone with a programmer and see if they can change the speed code. I’d bet from the sounds of it it’s code 1 (8mph) or code 2 (11mph)
You may also have a battery problem further exacerbating a slow speed code. |

Re: Max speed 10mph
Picked it up off of FB marketplace from a private seller. Regardless of current setting i have a feeling i might be contacting Scottyb to see about going down the new controller / solenoid route.
Checked the batteries and they look full, at least the water was to the top just before the plastic hole that the caps go in. Going to go ride it tomorrow and then do a full charge and wait 12 hours to test the voltages. |
