Suspension
I just bought a 97 E-Z-Go gas and noticed that the suspension seems loose. I feel like when I step on to the cart, it feels like it's gonna bottom out. Is this caused from the suspension or leaf springs? My wife who weights 120 also said the same thing so I know it had nothing to do with my weight. Any advice is much appreciated.

Re: Suspension / Shocks
After doing some more research I think what I need to know; is there a way to adjust the shocks to be more stiff? The cart just seems "rocky", way more than my 93 marathon.

Re: Suspension / Shocks
The shocks on your cart really only damper the ride, they are really not too functional, the leaf springs that are in the front and rear is what really stiffens the cart. What size of leaf springs are on your cart? Depending on how it was used in the past your leaf could be a little worn out.

Re: Suspension
Thanks LostHusker, that's kind of what I was figuring. I wanted to replace the leaf springs anyway since there is a back seat; I want to put HD springs on it. The leaf springs that are on it are the stock, never been changed. So the shocks wouldn’t / shouldn’t be part of the problem?

Re: Suspension
Go with the four leaf HD springs and should help out quite a bit. Your cart will sit a little higher with them on, also replace the bushing and sleeve while you are at it, more then likely they are worn out as well and they don't cost much.

Re: Suspension
Sounds good, I'll do that. I can get the 4 leaf kit from BU for 99 so that's not too bad. Thanks a lot!

Re: Suspension
I'll look into that. Do I need to replace the front ones or just the back since that's where the added weight is?
Thanks again! |

Re: Suspension
You will half to decide that one, I would wait to see how it sits after you have installed the rear ones, the front ones can wear out but it is not as common.

Re: Suspension
Just wanted to let you know... I replaced the rear leaf springs, which was easy. The cart rides a lot nicer!
Thanks again |
