2002 EZ GO electric cart only moves in reverse

We just bought a 2002 EZ GO electric golf cart, and it will only move in reverse even when the switch is in forward. It has the push button switch in the dash and the run/tow box under the seat.

Sounds like you've got a 2002 TXT PDS.

Either a bad F/R switch or a bad controller.

Be sure to flip Run/Tow switch into the Tow position before disconnecting or connection anything electrical, or towing cart.

Put Run/Tow switch into Tow.
Disconnect J-1 and measure between Pins 1&2 in the disconnected plug with an Ohmmeter.
Should be a short in Reverse and open in either Forward or Neutral.

Measure between Pins 1&3.
Should be a short in Forward and open in Reverse or Neutral.

If the F/R switch checks out, the controller might be bad.

You can get the cart to go forward-only instead of reverse-only until you get the needed parts by switching the F1 and F2 leads on top of the controller.

Thanks! We wound up switching the cart out with the guy we bought it from. It was a problem in the control box
