electrical probs
have a 98 club car ds series. 51v across the pack. was having some issues with charging when we first got the cart. noticed neg wasn't run through the obc (fixed) was checking out the forward reverse and noticed it was melted and one of the contacts was lose. (replaced f/r) hooked all back up and it would go in reverse but not forward thought maybe crossed some wires but now it won't go in forward or reverse. solenoid doesn't click.
here's the weird thing now. i tried an obc reset. the reverse buzzer just keeps going and going...so i unhooked the positive lead that goes to the solenoid and unhooked the neg lead that goes through obc. the reverse buzzer still goes off when put in reverse i let it go for like a minute hoping it would run down a capacitor but it just keeps going. where is it getting the power from. i show 6v on the solenoid with no main pos/neg hooked up. confused i've read so many threads and have the wiring diagram freaking memorized but this... thanks for any help update: still have the positive and negative leads unhooked from the battery terminals. put my voltmeter negative on the negative battery post that the cable is no longer connected to then put my positive voltmeter lead on the frame and get 48 volts. don't think this is right but can't figure out where the frame is getting 48 volts Last edited by catdaddyno1; 05-06-2012 at 01:11 PM.. Re: electrical probs
Definitively gonna keep an eye on this thread !! Seems you and I are having the same problems.......pretty much the same scenario actually !!!
I like yourself have searched and searched, checked and checked voltages, all limit switches are working, no blown fuses etc etc etc. But still have a no go cart :( No solenoid click either........I wish I could answer your question but will definitively post an answer if I figure out whats going on with mine. Good luck ! |

Re: electrical probs

Re: electrical probs
Finally figured out the problem. It was the micro switch in the multi-step potentiometer. The spring inside the switch burnt so replaced switch all is running now.
Talked to dealer about the 48v to frame they said the frames have just have a charge. |
