Default 95 DS electric, gears seems to be slipping?

Looking for some advice. I have 1995 Club Car DS electric model. When I try to use the cart i quickly get a loss of power and hear a stuttering sound, like gears or something in the differential is slipping. It is not the seleniod clicking, and it occurs both in forward and reverse. After a few feet I can't move the cart. Batterys are ok and overall voltage is 48.2v. Sure would appreciate any advice on fixing this.

Could be Low voltage shudder. 48.2 isnt really good. How old are the batteries? Check each battery, you could have 1 bad one causing the whole pack problems.

Thanks, I checked the batteries with my meter and 5 reads 8.4v or so and one reads 6.4v. Would that do explain the problem? They are 4 years old.

Yes i would say the one battery is no good, you need to check the volts, after the batteries have been off the charger for 12 hours to get a true reading,

Thank you, looks like a new set of batteries is needed. I figure if one has failed, the others are not likely far behind.
