Default Re: Club Car Caroche Golf Cart 1974'-1980' brakes

I just bought one yesterday (1974) and have found 3 companies on my first search that carry break parts. My Caroche will be put on the back burner to I finish some of the other projects. I have a few 1980 G 1's also and after searching have found dicontinued parts and have bought what was left of a few. I find it fun and rewarding searching, there always has to be someone holding something good. Thank you for my stickers. From my family to yours have a great Holiday and a Happy New Year !

Finally was able to pick up my caroche that I purchased a few weeks ago. Won't be doing anything for awhile. Cart was sitting under a house enclosed for quite a few years. Rear wheels won't move, hoping it's the breaks !

I have called my local Napa and searched online for hours trying to find a cross. Would you happen to have more information on what part worked for you from Napa?

That has been some time since he post that. His last post was on 2/16 on a other subject. Did you check vintagegolfcartparts ?

Hello. Can I switch from the hydraulic brake system to a mechanical brake system? I have a 1980 club car caroche and the brakes are not working. Was wondering if it’s be easier just to replace the rear clusters with mechanical brake clusters instead? Any advice would be great!! Thanks in advance.

I found the master cylinder for 55-75 bucks depending on your location.
I also found the shoes for 50 bucks off of eBay. Still working on matching the wheel cylinders…

Okay master cylinder is a NAPA M1050. I got mine for 55 bucks brand new. From my understanding is any M1050 will work. The only thing with it, is that you will have to slot the bottom mounting hole to get it to fit. Works like a charm. My wheel cylinders were in bad shape, But a standard 1" kit from napa 5 bucks, and a little honing the wheel cylinder and it works like a charm! Mine were really bad, but after honing, I couldnt believe it. So The Shoes I found on ebay for 50. So total I am in it for about 120 bucks and I have brand new brakes!!!

Thanks Jason!!! I figured someone somewhere had a cross for the wheel cylinders. I will keep that in mind if mine ever go out!
