For some reason a lot of dealers don’t want to change profiles. My dealer said you only need to change profiles if you are changing type of battery such as going to gel or lithium.

Just going from memory, I think DPI had an algorithm setting for the CR190 but they didn't have one for their CR165. Most DPI's I've seen have little dipswitches you can flip for different batteries/algorithms, usually under a rubber cover. You can look it up online or look through some of the posts in this forum. The guy that bought my DPI has had no problem charging his Trojans. From what I've seen lately, Trojan's are more expensive than the Crowns and the CR190 gets my vote if available, more power, more range. And the Crowns that I have now are in a black box.

I know you found the answer already, but just wanted to post a link to the subject for anyone else looking for this info.

Those dealers are either disingenuous, or flat out dumb. The owners manual that comes with the cart states that the charger algorithms must be changed when switching to a different brand of batteries. Perhaps they don't know, which only means they've not studied their products they sell.
The original algorithm will cook most other battery brands, and almost always causes early failure of the battery. Which means more battery sales because people are then forced to replace the batteries multiple times.

Very well known info, we have discussed many times here on the site. Lots of info in this thread: https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/show....php?p=1748494
Post #11 if you just want the links to info on the Delta-Q site.
