Lightbulb 2013 G29 Drive governor not working

Hi, I have a 2013 YDRAX3, Gas model. It has the TEAM rear axle.

The cart goes way too fast, above 20mph. Adjusting the governor all the way to the absolute back does absolutely nothing, no change in speed at all. Same for tightening it, so the governor is currently not doing anything. I've adjusted the throttle cables, no change.

Really looking for a direction to go in here as to how to get the governor to operate again. Is there anything in the rear axle that can break and cause the governor to not operate? Asking because I see the governor goes into the top of the rear but I don't know what it does once it goes in.

Any help would be appreciated. I've tried checking through the forums and online but all I can find is people trying to make their cart go faster and all I'm trying to do is pull back the speed since it's way way up there currently.

Is the cart new to you? There's a possibility the someone has drilled out the hole on the governor arm so it freewheels on the shaft and eliminates the governor. See if the arm moves without moving the shaft.

Hi, thanks for the response! Yes, it's new to me, looks like it's not drilled out, it doesn't appear to move separately. I attached pictures of the governor setup if that helps

So cart just sitting eng off when you depress gas pedal does the arm move? If you pull your seat you can see the arm move as you depress the throttle pedal. A flashlite may help. I have 2013 efi YDRAX3F as well.

Edit: one end of your spring looks different than mine.

It does move when I press the pedal but if I watch it as I keep the pedal down, the arm doesn't even attempt to pull back on the throttle at all, it just lets the engine rev as high as possible and freely accelerate even with the governor adjuster nut backed out to give as much slack as possible.

I was reading through the forums and I saw something about weights in the axle that could get thrown, would something like that cause the governor to stop operating?

I'll definitely split the case open if it could potentially be something inside the axle

You tossed 1 or more weights on the input shaft.
The fix requires splitting the transaxle and replacing the input shaft.

Looking at the Governor from the back of the cart I believe the arm moves forward to pull the throttle back as road speed increases. Do you observe this?
