Re: 1997 DCS Project Starts
Have made a couple of trips this week to pick up some stuff that I need.
Got a new (used) body. New front emblem New top New rear bag rack / support structure New floor mat New seat covers Replaced circut board in the charger Length of 4ga. wire with connectors New seat handles Body rivet kits I have someone who is buying this. I'm putting it back together with new batteries and cables. After I add the dump bed the only thing that will be left is adding some lighting to it and fishing rod holders on the top. I'm hoping to have the frame the rest of the way stripped down this week and basically put back together this weekend. I'll keep taking pictures. Hopefully this one gets turned around quick so I can start on the other cart... at least the mods on that one will be more fun! |

Re: 1997 DCS Project Starts
I exchanged the old top for the new one...
Plan has changed - buyer backed out of the deal so it means that I won't have to install the dump bed. I have 3 more carts now that are waiting on work - I swear... I should do this full time! Anyway - I think I have everything that I need to get the DCS back together this weekend. I'll take pictures. The PDS is getting some new shoes tomorrow - I'll be bringing the Duro Desserts to a forum member here for use on his cart that is being built. I'm also taking the stock motor out this weekend and boxing it up for sale... looks like it'll be going to KY to live in an 01 PDS. After that there will be an Alltraz 500amp controller and a motor from D&D coming! Personally I'm hoping to get mid 20's out of that setup with the 23" tires... time will tell... |

Re: 1997 DCS Project Starts
I actually got some work done on this one this weekend.. I stripped the frame down to remove any surface rust, primed and repainted.
The new body is on as is the new bag rack and the top. I'll finish putting the new covers on the seats tomorrow and get them put back on there. Batteries will be the last step on this one as far as running gear goes. I'm going to drop some hub caps on this as well after removing any spots of rust from the rims. Then its time for a good old fashion detailing! It's come a LONG way from the housepainted thing that I brought home! |

Re: 1997 DCS Project Starts
Local dealer has bags that he put together for me.
BTW - last night I put on the SS hub caps and the new seats that I finally finished. I'm not going to break my arm patting myself on the back but this thing looks great! Left to do: Replace the floormat Change the steering wheel Maybe add windshield Add batteries - I have a set of 1 year old T-105's Good old fashion detailing Sell. (Though admittedly I have grown pretty attached to the idea of 2 carts) |

ITS ALIVE!!!!!
ALIVE!!!!!!! Got the batteries in (1.5yo ste of matching Trojan T105's - well kept and load tested)... Even though I'm using the old wires.... IT RAN! I still need to free up the brake pedal and add the new floormat... but it ran. Should have this one finished up by the weekend and ready for sale! |

Well - she's complete! 14.4mph on the GPS.
Brakes are fixed and the floormat is intstalled - new steering wheel is on as well. Cleaned up the rockers before re-installing. She's off to the For Sale section now... Thanks for watching... this one has really been rewarding! |
