It works! s As I was told - I got a good 30% more umph! And added top end - enough that I'm not going to be able to ignore some worn tie rod ends much longer The conversion was painless. 48v solinoid from BU. Led battery indicator gauge is waiting to be installed. All cables are 4g. Two 6v seasoned batteries were added in the bagwell which is under the cargo bed in this ranch cart. Access isn't the best for maintenance but, I wanted the juice! I used some lightweight hold downs from Prep Boys - you could do better yourself. I used a pvc elec. nipple to shield the cables in the holes thru the body. The pack was at 52v when I first tested it. It spun the tires a little. Most noticable was the ability to nearly maintain speed uphill to the neighbors - The pack is coming up to 60v and finishing now... I am using a Yamaha charger from craigslist and I think it is reaching higher Vs than the 36 and the 12 did seperatly and then me combining the bunch. Thanks to all who helped.
PS: The Melex is a beast. Results would be better in a lighter cart like the CC. Zoom zoom zoom

new 48v solenoid

prep boys holddowns slightly modified

old 36v solenoid

I had help

The Yamaha charger

Added traction!

Lead in the Bagwell

Modified holddowns - good enough for now.....

Pvc nipples protect cables

4 gauge cables soldered

I never knew mine at anything but 48v but I know it is a blast when going off road and through the neighborhood. Does your's have a controller? if so what controller did you use?

Oyeah, I got amps to spare now. It was kinda fun it worked on the first try.
Gonna have to keep this old cart for awhile now. I tried to start a Melex Club but there hasn't been a whole lot of response yet. Maybe I'd have better luck starting a Moped Club?

It was my first attempt at making a performance improvement in an electric cart so I was just trying to get my feet wet. The upgrade from 36 to 48 gives more power, and reserve. I'm already planning the next one....

Keep up the good work my friend. I remember the first scooter I got about 5 years ago, its for people who cant walk very good, it was weak and I added another 12 volt battery and man it would fly then. I have a almost brand new Rascal scooter now it stays in my van and I have another Rascal here at the house I use to ride around here on.
