I bet its the idler bearing on the drive clutch. Take the belt off and spin it with your finger and see how it feels. I would just keep an eye out for a new clutch. You can rebuild them but you don't save much money. I was going to order all the parts to rebuild mine then I found a new one for 100 bucks.

Guys... this thread is almost 2 years old! But, I'll add to it!
The idler bearing on the drive clutch should spin freely! However... if it makes noise, then its worn out. Cart Parts Plus has replacement idler bearings! and while you have the drive clutch apart... you might as well replace the buttons and thrust washer also! .02 |
