MCOR problem?
I have a club car 2001 model with the IQ system. I know lots about ezgo but this is my first club car. Sometimes when I push the go pedal the cart will move a little and stop. I let off the pedal and push it again and it runs fine. Today I was running at about half speed and it just shut off. Let off the pedal and pushed it again and it took off like nothing happened. From what I have read I probably have a problem with the MCOR? It's hard to diagnose something that works most of the time.

Re: MCOR problem?
The microswitch inside the MCOR may be failing.
If you remove the floor mat and the access panel to the MCOR, you will see a 3 pin a 2 pin connector. Disconnect the 2 pin connector and place a wire jumper or paper clip in the connector, make sure you put electrical tape to avoid a short circuit. If the problem goes away, the MCOR needs to be replaced. You can also look at the stickies in the club car section for a good view and write up on how to replace the switch inside the MCOR, but it is an involved process. |

Re: MCOR problem?
It's very possible that this is an MCOR problem, but Club Car didn't make the IQ system in 2001. You either have a 2002+ or you have a different drive system. What's the serial number?

Re: MCOR problem?
The early IQ cars had an issue like you describe. It can often be eliminated by installing a "dropout harness" It's simple to install. Un plug the tow/run switch and install the dropout harness between the two plugs of the tow/run switch. 102355201 I believe is the part number. I'll have to wait til I go back to work on Monday to confirm, but I believe that's it.

The problem is I can't replicate the problem. Sometimes it runs for days with no problems and sometimes it will act up 3 times in 10 minutes.

Re: MCOR problem?
7F02 = Silver Standard IQ Golf Car, 2002 Model. Silver Standard is much like the Gold Standard cars, they're refurbished. The Gold Standard refurb is a little bit more involved though.
