Take the cables off the motor studs. (Be sure to use two wrenches, one to hold the bottom bolt in place and the other to take off top nut on stud. If the stud turns, bad things can happen inside the motor)

1. Measure between the A1 & A2 studs with Ohmmeter. What Ohms do you measure?

2. Measure between the F1 & F2 studs with Ohmmeter. What Ohms do you measure?

3. Measure between the F1 & A1 studs with Ohmmeter. What Ohms do you measure?

4. Measure between the F2 & A2 studs with Ohmmeter. What Ohms do you measure?

5. Measure between the F1/F2 & Motor housing with Ohmmeter. What Ohms do you measure?

6. Measure between the A1/A2 & Motor housing with Ohmmeter. What Ohms do you measure?

Tests 1 and 2 should have a low Ohmic value.

Ideally, tests 3, 4, 5 and 6 should measure infinite Ohms (open), but due to the carbon dust from the brushes coating everything inside the motor, you will get an Ohmic value.

1.4Ω is a bit low for the field windings of a stock PDS motor, so you may have a lot of carbon dust in the motor, or the F1/F2 wire between motor and controller might be shorted. That is why they should be measured again without the wires attached.

By "0" for 3-6, do you mean Zero Ohms (Shorted) or Infinite Ohms (Open)?????????????

The Ohmic values for 1 and 2 are less than normal. IIRC, the armature windings of a stock standard speed PDS motor has about 3Ω DC resistance and the Field windings have about 5Ω.

Sorry for the delayed reply, I've been busy. I replaced the controller and cleaned out the motor of the carbon dust. Now it drives normal for about 15 yds and then it slows down and takes back off
