Connection here (blue wire from F&R) is to the ignition switch.
The install calls for switched power FROM the ignition switch.
Make sure your power supply cuts on/off with the key switch.
Alternatively, you can install a toggle switch to turn the reducer on/off from any 36 or 48v power supply

Hey, a voltmeter will tell if your wire is switched or not

If the reducer is not turned off you risk 2 bad things.
1. the reducer overheats and fails.
2. the reducer draws the batteries down

Hmm, I do know that all my accessories turn off when the key is in the off position. That means my reducer isn't drawing any power, either. Right??

That's not for sure. Simply check to see if you have power at the yellow switch wire when off. If the yellow wire has power the unit is on..... another check may be to see if the reducer is cold when off for an hour or 2.
