Default What kind of grease on shaft clutch G1

So I've taken the clutch apart and have it cleaned up nicely. I'm waiting on a ramp shoe to come in and I'll put it all back together. I do need to know what kind of grease I need to use on the shaft.

I just always use whatever I have, chassis grease usually. It doesn't have to be high temp, but sometimes waterproof might help. Wheel bearing grease will work too. Remember....just a tiny bit. If you use too much it will fling all over your belt. Grease on the belt almost always ruins them.

Cool, thanks! I just used a wire wheel on the dremel on the shaft, it's all clean and shiny now. I had some trouble taking off the broken ramp shoe. It broke off and the stem stayed inside the hole. I used a burr and the dremel and got most of it, I just don't know how deep it goes. I may have to drill it out if it goes any further. Once the ramp shoe comes in I'll put it back together and see how it runs. It should be MUCH better now that the movable sheave will actually move. It was frozen on there pretty good.

New ramp shoes are in. I paid for ONE shoe on amazon, I got three. Might as well replace some of the ones that are a little worn in the corners. Once I get some grease, it's all going back together along with a new mirror and new headlights. BBQ'd the muffler on Monday. We'll see how it runs with it all back together and with the stock spring.

Is there anything that needs to be greased inside the primary clutch?
