Charging questions.
99 club car with all new batteries. 4 were bought at one store and 2 from another. Same battery just not all in stock. The two are reading about .6 less than other 4. How long before they even out.
Also rebuilt charger. Comes on a few seconds after I plug it in but have yet to leave it on long enough to satisfy for fear of it not shutting off. After leaving it on for a while I get an egg smell coming from the cart. Would this be a loose cap. With the charger on it is feeding around 57 volts. 48 cart btw. When I remove it, it will slowly trickle down to about 49. Is that the actual charge and I am not letting it charge long enough. Sorry for the long post. |

Re: Charging questions.
You are not letting it charge long enough; with a properly functioning OBC/Charger it will time out at 16 hours anyway. 49 volts at rest is just barely above 60 % state of charge or near DEAD you need to leave the charger to do its job as 51 volts at rest is your full 100 % charged voltage. During charging 57 volts is roughly in the bulk charge zone and during the finish or equalization charge where your batteries should equal out will be upward of 62 volts. The faint rotten egg smell in typical of fresh batteries being charged.
