EZ go wiring help 36v 1995 medalist
Ok, the cart works but had some seriously corroded wires so I've purchased a 4 gauge wiring set made by "the wire shop - PN EZ607317" that seems to be available on a number of different sites.
I've poured over the wiring diagrams repeatedly and something doesn't seem right, but the cart does work properly in forward and reverse so it must be. As I'm installing my 4 gauge kit, I'm only taking one off and replacing it directly from the kit so I don't change anything accidentally. I seem to be missing a cable as I don't have a short C to A2 on the controller but perhaps the cart isn't wired right and I'm using one I shouldn't. I have a hard time believing this could be wired incorrectly and still work though the rear lights were completely wrong and did so I guess it's possible. Here's how my cart is wired (there are other wires but these are the heavy, 4 gauge ones) Battery Positive to Solenoid - (side marked "batt") Battery Negative to B- on speed controller F/R controller - Post "A" to "B+" on speed controller The one I seem to be missing in the kit is from "C" on the F/R controller to "A2" on the speed controller. There are two forward reverse controller "C" post connections. One cable goes from "F/R C" to "A2" on the speed controller and one from "F/R C" to "A2" on the motor. I have the long C to A2 but not a short one. My kit came with 4 long motor wires and 3 shorter (25" or so) cables. Shouldn't I have 4 long and 4 25" wires + the 5 battery wires? I am also missing a very short "A2 to SOL-" cable it seems... that's about 6" and not in the kit, either. |

I think a complete set has 13 cables in it.

Re: EZ go wiring help 36v 1995 medalist
For my 95 medalist, I seem to need (based on how it's hooked up now):
4 motor wires (long) 5 inter-connects between batt/sol/FR *Batt neg to B- on speed controller *Batt Pos to Sol side market BATT *C on F/R to A2 on speed controller *C on F/R to A2 on motor *Sol Neg side to B+ on speed controller (about 6") 5 battery "joiners": *4 battery +- jumps *1 battery jump across batteries (a little longer) Total of 14 |

Re: EZ go wiring help 36v 1995 medalist
There were 3 and 4 blade controls used.
13 pcs is correct for 6 batteries and 3 blade control. 14 pcs needed if the control has the 4th A2 blade. Note you can bypass control A2 (leaving it bare) and wire as a 3 blade control with no adverse effect. |
