Re: Bigger Tires and Lower Gears
Wow, my worst case was only a two speed rear end with a 10 speed tranny. Shifting the Imaginative rear end is cable driven so I'm thinking that I'll make a mechanical floor shift for the axle and work in the good old 2 speed electric button on the shiftier for the motor. Is there a digital display available to install for reading the temps of the thermocouple instead of a meter
Thanks again Rob |

Re: Bigger Tires and Lower Gears
Yes, there are temperature displays that will monitor the motor case temperature out there, I just used what I had available at the time.
The Ex-Ray speedometer monitors motor temperature: http://www.edt-exray.com/ What is needed is a digital thermometer with a remote sensor whose cable is long enough to reach the motor and will measure up into the 240°F range. If you can see the motor, an IR thermometer works for checking temperature occasionally. I usually carry a DMM in my cart anyway, so getting a dedicated motor temperature display hasn't been a high priority for me. |
