Public Charging Stations
I've seen the parking spaces reserved for electric vehicles, that have the charging stations at them. Anyone know if these stations will work for our golf carts? I know it has to have the right plug on them, but wasn't sure if these stations had the option of plugging your existing charger into them.
Just curious if anyone has come across these. |

Re: Public Charging Stations
Most EV are designed to be charged using a regular 120v outlet, the car will have an on board charger that will then convert that 120 to the proper voltage dc for the particular car. So I would think that those charging stations are 120 AC and would not be suitable for a golf cart unless you were to bring your own charger and of course purchase an adapter that would match the charging station plug configuration.

Re: Public Charging Stations
That J-something-something-spec plug on the station is going to cost serious time, considerstion & money to make work on your cart. They basically cant be made to turn on without the charge station being able to verify an "cant drive away" interlock, what voltage to use 120-240, and high amps or low amps. There are "spoof boxes" out there, but i question their safety. You are not gonna find a nice little 120v outlet on it to plug your charger into. Making a unified system to work with most all electric Cars made it expensive to implement.
