Question Why is one headlight brighter than the other?

I installed my MJ delux light kit, and since I don't have a voltage reducer yet, I just picked a random battery and attached the main power cords to it. I made sure to test it with my voltage meter to be sure I was only pulling 12v.

Last night I noticed that one headlight is significantly brighter than the other. Like one it at full power and the other is only at 1/2 or even 1/4. Is this a wiring issue, or is it because I need to charge my cart? It hasn't been on the charger in at least a week.

Is an an LED kit. It is common to get a headlight with a bad LED or three. Turn on an inspect the individual units. If some are dim, ask for a replacement.

How did you run the wires? Check the voltage at the light that is dim.

It is not an LED kit. The headlights are halogen, and the tail lights are LED. Its just the regular light kit.

I ran the wires just as the diagram stated. I connected pos to pos, and neg to neg, on one of the center batteries in the series. I used my voltmeter to make sure that I would only get 12 volts by connecting there. The light kit wires are connected on top of the cart wires, and screwed down tightly.

Like mentioned above...pop out bulb and measure voltage at dim light. Could be anything from a broken wire inside insulation to a bad ground but if its dim your not getting a full 12v

My vote would be bad ground or a short causing your 12v to be going else where test your light at the socket also inspect all wire and all connections may be a loose wire to

Swap the light bulbs. See if the problem swaps sides also. Could also be one light shining up in your eyes and the other shining down.
