29 1/4" is the correct length, if the new spring is still mounted it will measure longer.

What is your cart serial number, just wondering if it is also a late 2012/early 2013 model?

So after talking with a friend at work, that has a custom built rock crawler jeep, he called this "spring inverting". He said this is an issue he has seen before on jeeps, and the way you fix it is to make boomerang spring hangers. So that's what we did and so far it seems to work great. But I also noticed when when I changed the hangers, that I was wrong about the manufacturer of the springs. They did come from JZM carts, but Steeleng is painted on top of them. So I will try and call them, because it looks like they have a two year warranty. Thanks for all the help.

We had another member deal with the same issue on a new precedent, perhaps he will notice the thread and post his resolution.

Make sure the shackles are not over-tightened which could keep the shackle from moving freely, the correct torque on those bolts is only 15 ft-lb.

Here is the thread with the leaf spring issue and welcome to the site

Unfortunately, I never found a solution.

Sounds like he and/or his friend made them. Maybe he could make you a set or supply a sketch with measurements so you could make your own.

I’ve had 3 Precedents do this. Driving me literally nuts. My H/D leaf springs are a 1/4” longer (eye to eye) than OEM. I’d like to try the boomerang shackle method but wondering if it will still pivot and do the same thing.

You only need to extend your shackles an inch or so. No needs to shape them.
