Not impressed with upgrade results....
I upgraded my 2002 CC DS 36V cart to an 500 amp ALLTRAX, 400 AMP solenoid, 2G cables, new pedal kit, new HD F&R switch. I left stock club car motor on it. I also have 23" tires on it.
BUT i'm only getting 12 mph on the straightaway. Did I need to program the controller or do I need to adjust it? |

Re: Not impressed with upgrade results....
Did you upgrade the batteries?
Is it still 36v? On a series motor voltage = speed. Stock motor and still 36v, you're still going the exact same speed as before. You upgraded the power delivery items, so you have more torque, but you have no higher voltage, the motor is still going to top out at exactly the same rpm. You need 48V batteries and a better motor to go faster. |

Re: Not impressed with upgrade results....
I have an 01 DS, 48V with same basic supporting mods and an Admiral A1 motor, except I still have stock 18" tires on it, and it will do burn outs on concrete if i'm not careful, especially in reverse! It will cruise a pretty steady ~23mph on pavement. Will still cruise a steady 21-22mph on dirt or grass. With 22-23" tires I think it would cruise closer to 30mph
Get an A1 from scottyb and you'll be happy. :) And when you go to replace the battery pack and go 48v you'll be even more happy! |

Re: Not impressed with upgrade results....
See my signature. I am running the same setup on a 36V motor only I am putting 48V to it. 22mph on stock tires. Go 48V and you should see 25 mph easy with your tire size.
