Rear Diff Fluid?
Have recently had a leak out of the back right of my cart. I believe it was due to the cart being left on a lean (flat tire) and believe the fluid coming out was Diff oil. Have cleaned it up and since fixed the tire.
My question is, how do I know what oil to put to top up what was lost. I have attached pictures of the leak, the type of motor and where I think the oil should get topped up/where it gets drained. I have read online either SAE 30wt or 80-90wt. Any help is much appreciated as I am new to Golf Carts. |

Re: Rear Diff Fluid?
Is that some sort of vent sticking up from the axle tube where the fluid is?

Re: Rear Diff Fluid?
Hi Rooster. Yes seems to be some sort of vent. The cap on top moves but can't be taken off.

Re: Rear Diff Fluid?
Do you have manual for cart? Most say fill rear til lube runs out fill plug.
As I replied in your previous post. If oil runs out axle vent rear is overfilled. As a general rule. Do not fill lube above bottom of axle tube/housing with cart sitting level. As oil get agitated during use,it expands and flings off ring gear. This oil is kept in axle housing via axle seals and vents. Vents are common on most any rear wheel drive car, first time ever seen one on golf cart but purpose the same 😊 |

Re: Rear Diff Fluid?
Hi Cobra, I unfortunately dont have a manual for the cart and to answer Cgtechs questions I am not sure the make and model. Is there an easy way to.find the make and model for a cart with no other identifier?
Will fill the oil today, really want to confirm that SAE30 is appropriate for it. Thanks. |

Re: Rear Diff Fluid?
How are we supposed to know what fluid is appropriate, if we don't even know what it is?
Can you tell me what type and quantity of transmission fluid goes in my car without knowing what I have? |
