Default Full speed with slightest depress of throttle

I have an EzGo electric cart that when the throttle is just partially pressed, it will take off at full throttle. Once going it runs fine but there is no variable speed. It is either full speed or off.

Any thoughts on where to begin diagnosing the problem? Unfortunately I don't have the model year handy.

Thanks!

Thanks, I had a feeling that was the case. I'll have to get the information and post it later.

Just a guess but is it a plastic body cart that has been in the water lately?

Yes it is and it was driven through some puddles prior to this happening.

Remove the metal rocker panel scuff guard & lift the mat. open the peddle box and dry it out thoroughly with a hair dryer. That should fix your problem.

If you drive through standing water on a regular basis, while you have the ITS box opened up, drill a couple 1/4" holes through the bottom of the box to allow water to drain out.

Scottyb, you are a genius. That was exactly my problem. I dried it out and it runs beautifully. I also took the advice to put a small hole in the box so it can drain.

Thank you very much!
