Default Axe4844

Can I put a AXE4844 controller in a 99 EZGO Series cart without upgrading everything? I dont want to smoke anything but funds are limited and I found the controller locally at a real good price. I was going to add this and 4g wires. Would this help in the torque/speed department?

Yes, it will help with torque, but no speed gain will happen on a series cart with a controller upgrade. I ran that controller with only the 4g welding wire upgrade for a few years when I first started building my cart.

It will increase torque significantly but not speed in a series cart.

So, realistically speaking, how much seat of the pant difference would i get with controller and wires? Also, I have about 60 feet of 2 and 4 g welding cable. What would stop me from making the cables? Any idea what the lengths are for the 13 pcs. kit?

Take your old cables off one by one and remake and replace them . Well? 275 amps to 400 amps. You do the math.

Cables are easy to solder up and heatshrink, but scottyb offers a killer package if soldering is not your thing. You will feel the difference with the new controller, no doubt about it. Plus, the cart will be THAT MUCH CLOSER to a 48v conversion.

Honestly, the time and frustration that goes into DIY cables is not worth it. IMHO get with Scottyb and just buy his kit.
