Does it matter where i have the 400 amp fuse. I put it on my main positive (just going off my old truck amp days) but i noticed the alltrax pic has it on the neg coming off the pack.

Try those pics again with a higher resolution, we can't see anything of detail there!?

It makes no difference where you put it. Most vehicles use the frame for ground, so all fuses would be on the positive. On your golf cart, you can place it on positive, negative, or even in between batteries. In a series circuit, anywhere in the chain will work.

NEVER NEVER never ground anything in an electric vehicle, there are many expensive unprotected electronics bolted to the frame. The frame should be neutral!

As far as the fuse location is concerned the cleanest install location is Controller B-, it is farther away from the acidic vapor source of the batteries....

I was hoping the fuse would make a difference and solve my problem. I need to tighten the switch cam rod this evening like scotty b mentioned.
Im still thinking something is up with the batteries the way the 4 stay at 8.1 no matter if charged or not.

I just examined your battery series cabling and all is correct. I assume water in all cells? They are an off brand ... could be a bad one or 2? what is the pack voltage before charging and what does it rise to while charging? Cut off point should be 63+/- volts.

What charger are you using?

A loose connection at the switch cam would make the cart not go, but not effect the battery charging, that is a separate issue.

Pack voltage normally gets to 52 when charged. Soon as i hit pedal it drops to 44. 4 batteries stay at 8.1 no matter what. the other two fluctuate from 9.2 to 5.7. All cells have water. On the two that fluctuate i noticed some smoke or steam coming briefly coming out of cell closest to positive terminal when i opened it. The batteries are supposidly made by trojan batteris and the charger is set for trojan batteries.
Charger is brand new DPI Accusense 48V
