Battery terminal corrosion
'96 TXT Series...stock...36v...all batteries are the same age (1.5 yrs) and read equal and proper voltages both charged and discharged from use.
The problem is one battery has a positive post that gets corroded real fast. It is battery number 4 in the setup going positive to ground.... There is no swelling of the battery either. I clean it, use di-electric grease, verify no cable slop or looseness, nut fits tight....even swapped cables and nuts....nothing else wired to that battery.....still shows corrosion in about 1/3 of the time anything else shows. |

Re: Battery terminal corrosion
Check if the cell close to that post has more than the rest or too much water in it.

Re: Battery terminal corrosion
Nope, they are all real close in level.
I see no indication of overflow either. Could that post be loose in the battery case? |

Re: Battery terminal corrosion
If that is the positive post on the Left-Rear battery, that is the first to corrode on my setup also.
If we are both having same/similar issue, we can pretty much eliminate battery and cable faults. Maybe it is something subtle, like airflow. |

Re: Battery terminal corrosion
Rear drivers side battery positive post.....it shows long before any other corrosion.
Maybe the "stocky driver" issue.....lol |

Re: Battery terminal corrosion
JohnnieB, I have 8 six volts, 2 are in the bagwell, and that is the only post in my whole pack that has ever had any corrosion, even though I've got the other 2 in the back.

Re: Battery terminal corrosion
I have 125 in my fleet and that batt. is the one that gives the problems.
Even when coated,It will still corrode more than any of the others. I have the cart boys clean them once a week. |
