Accu charger continuously at 22 amps
I have a 96 36V club car, brand new Trojan T105 batteries just installed two days ago. When charger is plugged in, charger kicks in at 22 amps and stays there. The charger dial never moves progressively down and does not shut off. I allowed it to initially charge over night and charger did not shut off nor did the the dial move off the 22 amps. I have had this cart for approx 10 years and am familiar with how long even very low batteries typically have charged in this cart. I have checked the wiring diagram for the six batteries and all seems to be connected correctly. Everything worked fine with the cart and charger until the new batteries were installed. Is It the charger or cart? Please let me know your suggestions as to what may be the problem. Thanks

Re: Accu charger continuously at 22 amps
i,m only guessing here but if it worked with old batteries i would say this is a cart issue......have you checked the new batteries? test voltage and load test them and your certain they are hooked correct? keep in mind even a new battery can be bad and cause charger to act up so i would really suspect a battery problem here......................................

Re: Accu charger continuously at 22 amps
as long as nothing is getting hot i would try leaving charger go......it could just be batteries were sitting and are deeply discharged i don,t know but regardless the charger should shut off after 16 hours just keep an eye on things................can you try your charger on another cart see if it works normal?..................................

Re: Accu charger continuously at 22 amps
Working now. The red cable from the f/r switch needs to be on battery # 1 positive pat,it was on bat 3 which allows charging to bypass first two batteries. All is good. Thanks
