Default ezgo won't go

i have a 99 ezgo with F/R lever under seat. haven't had any problems until today. it clicks when you press peddle for both fwd and rev. ive checked voltage at battery andhave 38.4 volts, also checked at solenoid and ive got same on right side of solenoid but only have 27.4 on left side of solenoid. the clicking sound seems to be coming from the motor. it actually tries to jump when you press peddle. i do not have a resistor or diode at the solenoid.

You may have arced contacts in the solenoid. (The missing pre-resistor is to reduce the arcing when solenoid contact close)

Should have identical voltage on both big terminals after if closes.

What type drive system doe you have, Series or DCS?

It's a DCS.

There may be some other issues, but the solenoid contacts are bad, so I'd replace the solenoid and then troubleshoot further if need be.

Bypass the solenoid (put both big leads on one post)
If the cart runs the control is still good.
The stock control is a notorious weak link in the drive system.
If the cart does not run and the solenoid is good then you may be looking for a solenoid /controller upgrade.
