Default Reverse, no Forward

My neighbor borrowed my cart and now it runs in reverse but not forward. There is a click when the accelerator is depressed in the area of the controller but I cannot tell what is clicking. Please give me ideas on what to check.

The cart is a lifted EZGo custom with key, F/R, & Meter on dash. Thanks

Welcome to BGW

if the F/R is on the dash next to the key it's PDS drive system, The F/R is on the dash and there is a TOW/RUN switch on the controller cover right?

Forward and reverse is controlled by the controller, lift the seat a check the Black and white wire on top of the controller and make sure they are connected if they are and that is not the problem, check the two small wires on the motor and make sure one of those are not broke or loose, you can test the F/R switch on the dash, put the switch on the controller cover in TOW, Put the F/R switch in neutral, remove the panel so you can get to the back of the F/R switch, take a jumper wire and jump the center/grey wire to the grn wire, flip the tow switch back to Run and it should go forward if it is the switch, if not something fried in the controller, I'm sure JohnnieB will be along and have something to tell you,

there is something you can do to make it go forward if the controller is bad, do the test first and see what Johnnie has to say, then we will talk about that

Likely your controller has failed. What controller is it? Stock? and the cart ? Stock?

Wow. You guys are great. Thanks for the responses. I'm new and didn't give enough info on my cart. It's on an EZGO frame, PDS, 8.9 hp D&D motor, Alltrex 500 amp controller, 3 White-Rogers coils (one 586-117111, two 586-317111). Would like a way to test controller and coils before starting to replace. There is no Tow switch I have found and a light comes on the controller when pedal is pushed. Goes in reverse, not forward.

3 coils ? That sounds like a series cart that a PDS FNR switch was used..

What are the 3 letters on the controller ? AXE or DCX or ???

AXE control means it is a series drive system, not PDS.

Check the F&R switch.
