Default 2005 TXT Rear end?

Does any one know where to add oil to an 05 rear end? All I see is the drain plug.
Thanks

That's all there is, and actually, its not truly a drain plug, look at it, its not on the bottom.

most people take the pan off......clean it out.....pour the required 10 oz. in the pan....and put the pan back on. I personally have a graduated pump and just pumped in the 10 oz. and put the plug in.

I just empty the pan and if all looks good add oil with a syringe until it starts to drain out the fill hole. I use Royal Purple for oil.

That is what I just discovered too on my 06. I used a little pump for boat outdrives, you just screw it into the oil bottle and pump the oil in, real easy. You can get the pump at walmart for less that ten bucks.

YEP, they carry them as most sporting goods stores like ACADEMY....I saw one just yesterday when in there for something else.

You should use new oil, not used oil.

Seriously, unless you have an RXV with limited slip rear then any name brand straight 30 weight oil will be fine.

I run royal Purple in my RXV limited slip. Figured the best oil will get the best lube and most life out of differential. Plus it is low resistance so maybe minimum but less drag equals a little more ride time. I am bias and use it on everything well worth $10 a quart.

yeah the type and grade is quite the discussion......your owners manual says to use regular 30 wt motor oil. well that may be all well and good, but I make my living maintaining and repairing machinery and gear trains.....so for my money.....I use a high quality gear oil formulated for that very thing.

gear lube, and if you want it real quiet, a little Lucas. Some Rxvs came with some thin (420 tractor oil, i think), dang those were noisey. had to replace most with gearlube 90w, you can skip friction modifier if you dont have a rxv or a posi.
