Default Re: What is this? MS? Volt Reducer?

I want to check the solenoid. I understand that I can test the low voltage posts with continuity check but to check High side I need to energize low side posts. What voltage do I need to send to low side to test the high side? 12v? 36? I do have a DMM.

Where was the sparking occurring? If it's from the accelerator switch, you should probably tear it apart and clean the contacts. The contacts carry a LOT of current, and need to be clean and tight. Others may comment, but the contacts should be flush with the mounting plate, so the wiper can smoothly operate, and make good tight connections.

If the contacts, wiper, and/or plate are too worn or eroded from sparking, you may need to replace it/them.

Sparking came from battery terminal. I could have welded if I left it om there.
