Washing it inside and out!

Ok my body is removed and i'm fixing to pull the batterys out and do a total frame cleaning. My DS is all aluminum frame so i was thinking i would spray it off real good to get dust, mud, trash then use the eagle one alumi etch cleaner. i used in on my atv and it will clean the crap out of aluminum and make it look brite and new. my question would be what do i need to not get wet? what will i tear up?

. . . F/R switch can be problematic when wet . . . totally avoid motor and controller which can be expensive mistakes . . .

Don't get the controller wet, they don't like water. Avoid excessively spraying the VGlide (if it has one) and the F R switch and solenoid. A general rule of thumb is don't direct water toward anything that looks electrical. You won't hurt the motor by hosing it down.

Eagle one cleaner is a good idea, others have reported it works wonders on frames, though I've never used it.

Just saw Steve's post, so I'll add some things: The F R switch can cause problems when wet, but a little water won't hurt it. I've found that a little WD 40 on the contacts will cause a cart that doesn't run because the switch is wet to run. The motor can be damaged by water on the inside (think totally submerged) but I've never had hosing one off and washing it cause me any problems.
