Question about my batteries

If you plugged the charger in last night at 7 pm and the batteries were at 40.1, and 10 hours later they were only at 41.6 i would say they are toast,

well considering how old they are.....and when you metered them they were below 50% SOC.....chances are they are toast....at least if they do take a charge, even if they don't get to 100%, their available run time is very suspect......meaning I wouldn't go in a straight line away from the house without someone there with a tow vehicle to get you home.

My batteries were similarly bad, depending on the voltage they will reach will tell you how bad they are. Mine would get to 44-45v but would never reach fully charged/float I could charge them for 48 hours and they would only hold at 45v bubbling and boiling water out like crazy.

With all that, I could get about 5 mile range out of the cart. I never really tested the full range as I just didn't use my cart in that way, I would run it for a mile or two and it would go back on the charger.

When I got home from work the charger was off. I have a voltage reading of 37.1 so we will have to test drive and see what happens.

37.1 is a start. Plug the charger in again for another cycle. Do it over and over and see if the pack will come up more. Read your voltage 12 hours after coming off the charger. Full pack voltage after the 12 hours off the charger should be around 38.22 volts.

After three more charge cycles I was able to get it to 38.3 volts. Only thing each charge cycle would only last about 30-40 mins. What does this mean if anything. I will also get a 12 hour reading in the morning. Thanks.

the real test is to see what the charge settles out at after the 12 rest period....that will give you a true measure of your batteries SOC.

I did a voltage reading after 12 hours and got a 37.3 so where does that leave me. Thanks.
