Default turn signals don't work with lights on.

My harness was a mess with cut up wires hear and there and I thought I had it figured out with 3 different diagrams and none off them really matched the harness, all the harness connectors were cut off and well when I got done everything worked except when I turn the head lights and tail lights on. The turn signals light up but don't flash. Any ideas, I have no break lights hooked up

not seeing your cut up wires .. i would say that the tail lights and turn signal lights are tied together some where ...

This is the diagram that came with the switch, it doesn't have what I need.

I think the problem might be that I did not hook up the hot wire for the turn signals to come on with the head lights.

I meant the diagram you posted..

the attached diagram has power from the headlights going to the turn signals. it seemed silly t me to have them lit when the head lights are on so I left them disconnected. I think thats my problem, it sees an incomplete circuit so it just lights up like if you had a bad turn signal bulb
does that make sense

there is a blue and white wire comming from the harness for each turnsignal, blue and white wire is the one on + on the push pull switch

Looking at your diagram, the blue/white wire is for the marker filament.
This is like the parking lights on a car, it is not a turn signal.
Yes, the blue/white wire should be hot when the headlight switch is on.

The turn signals themselves are a separate filament or separate bulb.
The turn signals should only be on when you activate the turn signal.

Take your diagram and color each wire with a matching colored pen.
Then it will be easier to follow the path of the electricity for each item.

Ok so that blue and white must be for the aside marker, don't have them.... So would it be ok to just not connect them

Yes - just make sure the wires are taped up so they don't short out.
They will be hot anytime the headlights are on.
