cart intermittant switch problem
just today had my cart act up first time since the build, it seems all connections are tight, I have the hvy duty switchng contactors from Scotty, (you can read in my sig all the heavy duty everthing this cart has), any way when switching to forward ,intermittanly it will just click and not move. if I switch to reverse, sometimes it will go in reverse like normal, sometimes not, and sometimes the opposite. if I switch it back and forth a couple times it will eventually go,might be my imagination but it seems when it kicks in its like full power, but that might just me pressing the pedal down further than I normally would because of the acting up, after a good little ride with a few moments of acting up along the way, when I checked, nothing was hot, except the motor, which by the way is about the only thing that hasnt been upgraded, stock 07 series motor.
any ideas, things to check, tests etc?? thanks guys |

I would check the forward micro switch. It controls the activation circuit in both forward and reverse.

Re: cart intermittant switch problem
Tighten the nut in the middle of the Forward / reverse switch, and check the micro switches on the F/R switch

Re: cart intermittant switch problem
Does the reversing contactor and solenoid always click? If not, you might try checking the throttle MS. Could also be the 4 conductor Molex connector from the throttle box. Those are the ITS and MS. If any of the four wires is bad, it will either not do anything, or it will activate the reversing contactor and solenoid, but not tell the controller where the gas pedal is.

Re: cart intermittant switch problem
I think Yurtle is on the right track. Clean up the molex connector with electrical contact cleaner. Can you test and see what the controller LED light flashes when the cart won't go?
