1998 club car ds acceleration problem
hey guys, I have a 1998 club car ds that sometimes runs and full speed and other times runs about half speed, if you are running half speed and let your foot off the pedal and press on it again it goes to full speed and your usually good for the rest of the ride, if you guys have any thoughts on what the problem could be I would greatly appreciate it,
thanks |

I have a '99 and have noticed the same behavior (brand new batteries). I'll be watching this thread.

Re: 1998 club car ds acceleration problem
From what I've gleaned from reading about carts here is that the older carts use multiple micro switches and multiple solenoids to control speed; meaning that when you demand more speed more solenoids engage and up the voltage being delivered to the motor... Thus if your speed is erratic and/or slow then your dealing with either bad switches or bad soleniods...

My guess is with teecro. Bad switches or solenoids. CCfrantic has a point. a serial number prefix and photo of battery compartment would be most helpful.

Re: 1998 club car ds acceleration problem
i have a 96 and wife and kids just complained to me last nite about the same problem. recently upgraded to curtis 1268, d&d sepex motor, new solenoid, wire harness, new batteries. i was wondering if it might be the throttle, not sure how to troubleshoot it though. i'll be watching this thread.
