Talking Time for some upgrades

Well about a year ago my F/R switch cracked and boke so i put a Scotty B'S H/D F/R switch in its place. About a month ago while we were camping something happen and it fried smoke was coming out from under the seat and the F/R switch kinda started to melt. So i have been saving up my spare beer money to add a Scotty B's speed controller package my cart is a 1996 EZ-GO TXT it has a All Sport Hi 5 lift kit on 25X8X 12" wheels with HD springs all the way around with a rear seat. This is the package him and I have discussed already I will be making a phone call tomorrow to ensure this will do what i want. My cart rolls around in the neighborhood and camp grounds only no hills or rough terrain.

You mentioned installing Scotty's HD F/R switch in the first sentence.
The you mentioned the F/R switch starting to melt about a month ago.
And then you said you are buying a DCX500 controller package.

Hopefully I'm reading it wrong, but it sounds like you have a series cart and your are putting a sepex controller in it.

Just to verify, you do in fact have a DCS cart??????

I don't think a new, higher-output controller is going to correct a melting F-R switch. You need to address the problem with the switch, too.....
