Default 1997 club car OBC replacement

I've got a 97 club car that won't charge. I'm not sure if it's OBC or charger plug. I done the reset and started working great. Now the charger won't even kick on or try anything. I plugged the charger up to a buddy's cart and it worked perfectly. I have replaced batteries and all cables. I found a OBC but I am trying to find out before I drop money and that's not my problem. What test should I run to be sure of problem?

All help is greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the 3/8a fuse in the gray wire at receptacle?
Have you tried the obc bypass in the stickies?
I had your issues and went the smart charger route, a dpi.

The fuse looks to be ok. I can't seem to find the bypass in the stickies. What's it listed under? Also is the smart charger the way to go? How much does it cost and what all is involved? I can get the computer for $200. So I wasn't sure on changing the system to get rid of the computer system.

From what I have read on this site the smart dpi charger is the way to go. It is not much more than the computer, and it lets you put larger battery cables on your cart without the bother of dealing with the hole in the obc.

Tj hooked you uo on the bypass. I think it is because its one and done w/o future issues with obc which seems to be a major issue on here. ~300 shipped. A simple wire splice is the easiest way. A little more work remove obc, direct wire recept to last neg batt and a ground wire from solenoid to controller. I went the full route.
