Default soleniod question

I have a 98 DCS EZGO with the alltrax 400amp controller. I was hooked into the controller with the lap top trying to see what needs to be set where. I had it hooked up for about 10 mins probably with the cart on and when I went to unplug it I noticed the solenoid was extremely hot. Is that normal? I know they get warm when you have driven for a while but the cart hasn't moved since last night it was just on for those 10 mins or so. It is so hot you cant touch it but for a second. that may be normal but idk enough about it. Just seemed excessively hott to me...
Thanks,

I just got an Alltrax XCT 400 for our cart, but haven't put it in, yet.
It does not sound normal for the solenoid to get hot like that.
What solenoid do you have installed?
Also, this is the Electric Club Car DS and Precedent forum so you might want to post this in the Electric EZGO forum.
