48V Club Car DS IQ Headlights Flashing
I have a 2003 Club Car Ds Iq 48v cart. I have a 48v to 12v converter installed from everything carts. I have headlights and l.e.d. tail lights installed. When I drive the cart at night whether I just took it off the charger or have been driving it when I hit a steep incline the headlights will dim and shut off flicker and if I ease off the throttle they will come back on. Only happens on hills. This just started happening about 1 month ago and continues to happen. Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Connections at the reducer or batteries are corroded or loose.

All the connections on the reducer are soldered and heat shrunk, all battery cables are new, tight and sprayed with anti corrosion. The wires at the battery from the reducer are tight. I wish it was that easy, but if you only knew how anal I was with my toys I have checked all that. It almost seems like a voltage drop but batteries are good and if I let off throttle just a little bit the lights come back on.

simple to check...take a voltmeter...backprobe the 2 wires that feed the regulator and drive the cart, watch the voltage being fed the reducer. Next backprobe the wires coming out of the reducer...drive and monitor voltage. this will tell you whether the problem is in the feed to the reducer, or the actual reducer itself.

Thanks oxfordlawn u know I am by far dumb when it comes to diagnostics but why I did not think of doing that since I have checked everything else is beyond me. I will do that this weekend when at the campground and check the voltage readings and let u know.
