Re: Oil
it wont hurt to change to synthetic or regular on a stock engine.i like synthetic because it doesnt break down as readily with the heat but then,i live in the desert.

Re: Oil
Thank you, I am new to all this and golf carts. I guess I bought the wrong year 92 because there is not much info out there on this cart. Parts, and so on. I live in North East Pa (58 degree's now) so temp is not an issue but I will probably use syn anyway just because of the break down issue with reg oil. Thanks for the help

Re: Oil
The engine calls for 10w30 or 10w40 for heavy use, I generally change them twice a year. 10w40 in the summer and back to 10w30 in the winter.
Your suppose to use 30w NDT oil in the ezgo helical gear rear ends, NOT "75/90", The 75w90 is for ring&pinion rears and doesn't lubricate as well as the 30w oil does with the helical geared rears. you run the risk of pre-mature failure if you use the heavy gear lubes on these types of rears, this is why the manufacture says to use 30w. I'm not sure what yamaha calls for in theirs but then again, this is the ezgo section, not the yamaha section |
