Default burned battery cables to motor help

for whatever reason one of the battery cables from the sw202 reversing contactor to the motor overheated and caught the casing on fire. after diagnosis of the cable, it was bad at one end due to the way i had it installed. it wore back and forth and broke.

this incident happened while a buddy was towing me back at the dragstrip and the switch for the dual speed motor was left in 'non-torque' mode.

i put on two new cables from teh sw202 reversing contactor and tried to run the cart. it would move forward but when i put it in reverse it shuttered forward still.

I tested the motor for both directions and it is fine. The reversing contactor clicks when the peddle is depressed in both forward and reverse.

im trying to get an idea of where to look next, how do you test the reversing contactor if you do at all.

- 48 volt
- altrax AXE 650 amp controller
- SW202 reversing contactor w/F&R rocker switch
- mzj-400 amp dc contactor
- 'ot' gauge wire
- electrical motor products 48v dual speed motor and selector
- wired via this diagram https://nebula.wsimg.com/9ec531007b6...&alloworigin=1

cart has worked flawlessly for past few years. ive never been able to get into the AXE software and i have tried different cables they list and also drivers without luck.

Thank You
Dean

here is how i have it wired up.

i checked the controller as i powered it up and operated the throttle which is 0-5k. key is on, step on peddle, controller flashes green once then goes off. as i press on the pedal further the green light will come on and stay on till i let off the pedal. The cart will move forward as mentioned but when i try reverse it shudders forward and not backwards. the indicator light illuminates the same in either direction.

the manual states ' solid green is ready to run'. after it flashes for the peddle type, is it supposed to stay green all the time or only when the peddle is activated?

thank you
dean

When you press the pedal just far enough to activate the pedal microswitch, the light should flash the throttle type then stay green. Pushing the pedal to the floor the light should turn amber to indicate full throttle. The light should only be on when the pedal microswitch is activated.
