84 EZGO Engine Swap
Hi Everyone,
I am brand spanking new to the golf cart world but not new to the wrenching world. I just bought me a 84 EZGO 2-stroke in excellence condition. Engine runs great, brand new clutch. So what am I going to do? Tear the beast apart. I am wanting to build an off-road golf cart for the wife. First item on my agenda.... motor. Any suggestions on a fairly inexpensive motor swap (<$500)? I have heard that 250sx motors work well in carts. Any input? Also do these stock motors fetch any $$$$ on the used market? Lastly is it as easy as dropping in a new motor, ditching the stock clutch steup, bolting a sprocket to the rear drive shaft, lining up the new motor drive sprocket, installing chain... and whamo.. super cart? |
