Regarding wheels and tires, with a 4-inch lift you can use up to 20-inch tires. The cheapest wheels will be 8-inch steel wheels with a 3x4 offset.
My buggy uses these wheels and 20x10-8 tires, Titan Fast Trekker in the front, Carlisle Super Lug (tractor tread) in the rear. There are lots of other options for tires, check with our sponsors and you may find a package deal that will work for you.

If your buggy still has the original spindles, your options are to get a set of 1982-up spindles and hubs(they must be replaced as a set- old hubs will not fit on new spindles or vice versa) or weld and modify your old spindles to work. You seem reluctant to do this, but here is what the mods might look like.
Thanks that what I thought.

Because I know the limitations of my skills and abilities, I want to minimize what I have to do...I can weld with oxy-acetylene.. if melting into a puddle can be called welding. Bolt on is well with in my skills. I will be depending on others for help with the engine skills.

Thanks for putting these idead out here. It helps me make an informed decision about what will do.

By the way where is the link for the sponsors.

You guys are fabulous...I appreciate all the good guidance You have given me.

This cart is supposed to be just a piece of transportation for my real passion gopher shooting...but as you help and l look through the boards and visit the sponsors and other supplies website, keep looking around for another cart for sale and I haven't picked my first one yet.

The cart I bought is 430 miles away straight south down the center of the Rocky Mountains down in Idaho. We have had a screaming blizzard here in Cut Bank today. I have been looking at the long range weather forecast and it looks like it will be March before I can get down there.

Is it possible this cart thing could become an obsession

No, of course not. We can stop buying and building these carts any time we want to.
Really.
Honestly.
Anytime at all.
Right, guys?
