Re: yamaha mid 90's
I have a yamaha gas cart and had starter/gen replaced. started having the cart quit in bad places!! took back to tech and the most he could tell the battery didn't generate enough power. replaced battery. drove about 600 feet and quit.
blew a fuse. replaced. took to course and drove 800 yards blew fuse. replaced. drove about a mile was ok. what is going on??? Max Justice |

Re: yamaha mid 90's
Sounds like you have a short to ground to me. Best thing to do is start checking wiring.

Re: yamaha mid 90's
Does it only blow while moving?? I don't think you need a diagram. sounds like you have a hot wire thats vibrating to a ground. Most likely somewhere around your starter/gen where you had the work done. Just take a close look and feel the wires, the mechanic may have scraped a wire thats now grounding with the vibration when running. Its not a dead short (wired wrong, hot to ground, ground to hot) or you would blow soon as you turned the key on.
good luck, let us know how you come out. |
