Default Battery pack question

Hello everyone.

I have a odd question. When I do a reading on my pack I get only 42 volts. Reading each battery I get 8.5 for each one for a total of 51 volts

Why when I read the entire pack do I only see 42 volts. It would seem when I do my reading I am missing a battery but if that was the case, where one wasn't wired up correctly why would it be charging? Am I missing something here?

Change the battery in your volt meter.

Pack reading missed a battery
You have 2 batts hooked up,in parallel (hard to do , but possible)

Your volt meter maxed out at 42

I thought that too. It's an older Canadian tire meter.

Are you sure you are taking the reading from the last battery in the pack?

Night Life!

You're 100% right. I was missing a battery. Person that had the cart before me wired up some stuff to the 2nd battery in place, so I was taking my readings from that one on. So once again my fault / Beers fault.

Thanks everyone for the help! :/
