Charge receptacle fuse/wiring (36v 2000.5 ds)
Almost done with my conversion from v-glide to solid state...
I have a question about the fuse for my charge receptacle... I have attached the pics of the old wires and fuse (i took it all apart and cleaned it the best I could)... I have never changed the fuse and did some searching on the forums and found that my 2000.5 club car ds 36v has an 80 amp fuse, so I bought one at Auto zone... My plan is to fix the new fuse to the top of the receptacle and wire it from there (a 10 g wire from the positive on the receptacle to one end of the fuse then another from there to the #1 battery positive post...another 10 g wire will go from the negative on the receptacle to the #6 battery negative post). Hope these pics help...if anyone has any input on if this fuse is good and my plan is ok please let me know. Thanks |

Thanks CTD...
could not really find the actual number on the old fuse...not really sure if it is bad...the wire in the old fuse was not broken but for a couple of bucks i figured might as well change it now... You think mounting it on top like that will be cool? Going to attach the wires underneath... |

Ok so I just saw your pic...
When I did my conversion I put a fuse in the same spot on my #1 battery positive post.... so do I even need this fuse here or can I just go + to + and - to -? |

it is really not needed
move your key wire switch wire to outside of fuse |

Re: Charge receptacle fuse/wiring (36v 2000.5 ds)
Alltrax recommends that fuse on the battery. Curtis shows it on their wiring diagrams also. It's protection for their controllers (although JohnnieB doesn't think it will blow fast enough).
The fuse on the charger receptacle protects against a suicidal charger. . |

Re: Charge receptacle fuse/wiring (36v 2000.5 ds)
My alltrax manual showed the fuse on B "or between any battery" if I read that right? Mines directly from the main pack to the controller
